Microsoft Office
Open to Grades 9–12
1 Trimester Period, 1 Credit
Prerequisite: Computer Applications
Students completing this course will have a firm knowledge of Microsoft Office 2010 and will be able to solve a variety of personal computer-related problems and take students well beyond the fundamentals of using application software. Students will use Word Processing (Word) to create proposals, use templates, generate form letters, and create newsletters; Presentation Software (PowerPoint) to work with information graphics, navigate presentations using hyperlinks and action buttons, and create self-running animated presentations; Spreadsheets (Excel) to utilize formulas, functions, charts, what-if analysis, and data tables; and Databases (Access) to create, design, search, and maintain databases.

Web Page Design
Open to Grades 9–12
1 Trimester Period, 1 Credit
Prerequisite: Computer Applications
Learn web design using Adobe Dreamweaver and Adobe Flash. Students will use these software tools to create high-quality websites. Students will learn to design and build attention-getting, interactive sites complete with graphics, buttons, animations, movies, and special effects.
Computer Programming
Open to Grades 9–12
1 Trimester Period, 1 Credit
Prerequisite: Computer Applications
This course teaches students the essentials of computer programming using the Visual Basic 2010 programming language. Topics include graphical interface design and development, control properties, event-driven procedures, variables, expressions, operators, functions, decision-making structures, looping structures, menus, and arrays. Students completing this course will have a firm knowledge and understanding of Visual Basic 2010 and will be able to develop a wide variety of Windows applications.
Computer Applications
Open to Grades 9–12 (Suggested Grade 9 or 10; Graduation Requirement)
1 Trimester Period, 1 Credit
Prerequisite: None
This course includes an introduction/review of the keyboard and a basic knowledge of hardware components. Students will use word processing, presentation software, and spreadsheets to create many types of personal and business communications. The course also includes a research of prospective careers.
