Laketown Elementary is home to approximately 540 kindergarten through fifth-grade students which includes an all day preschool section. We have a beautiful setting, surrounded by natural habitat and woods, perfect for outdoor learning and exploration.

LAKETOWN ELEMENTARY RECEIVES PBIS SUSTAINING EXEMPLAR RECOGNITION
For the fourth consecutive year, Laketown Elementary School has once again received the Sustaining Exemplar recognition for its work through the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework. Laketown is one of only 76 schools in the state of Minnesota to earn the recognition for the 2023-24 school year.
“This recognition is a testament to our amazing staff, who work tirelessly to ensure an environment where students can thrive,” Laketown Principal Keith Baune said. “The commitment to creating a positive learning environment through the implementation of PBIS is truly seen and felt by the entire Laketown learning community of students, staff, and families. I am so proud of what we have accomplished together and look forward to continuing this work in the upcoming school year.
PBIS is an evidence-based, tiered framework for supporting students’ behavioral, academic, social, emotional, and mental health. When implemented with fidelity, PBIS improves social emotional competence, academic success, and school climate. It also improves teacher health and wellbeing. It is a way to create positive, predictable, equitable and safe learning environments where everyone thrives.
