Waconia High School students participated in the State DECA competition March 10-12 at the Hyatt Regency in Minneapolis. DECA is a competitive student organization that prepares emerging leaders for careers in entrepreneurship, marketing, finance, hospitality, tourism and management. More than 2,000 students from across the state participated, including 14 Waconia students.

Waconia had three finalists on Tuesday at MN DECA’s State Career Development Conference: Jace Jager competed in a marketing event and the team of Evie Tellers and Maretta Henriksen competed in entrepreneurship. Tellers and Henriksen finished in the top eight for their Start-Up Business Plan and made it to the stage at the Minneapolis Convention Center Tuesday.

Congratulations to all of the participants!
