This is an example of a message we would send:
This message from Superintendent Pat Devine regarding a virtual emergency response communication test is going to all ISD110 parents staff.
The lockdown at all ISD110 schools has been lifted by the Carver County Sheriff’s Office. Please know that we have ensured the safety and security of all students during this incident.
Authorities tell us they will send out a news release around noon today. Now is not the time for speculation. Authorities will tell us what they can about the case in the news release. We will put it on our website as soon as it becomes available to us.
The school day has reconvened and we are conducting school as best we can. Going into lockdown can be a scary experience for everyone, especially the students. We are working with and watching over our students to help them get through this. Please assure them that their safety and security is always our number one priority. Building counselors and all staff members are available to help students work through this stressful experience.
Please do not speculate on social media and urge others to refrain as well.
Thank you for your cooperation during this incident. It is vitally important that we all work together with the facts in these situations.
Thank You!
WE Are ONE10
Pat Devine, Superintendent

At the request of the Carver County Sheriff’s Office, (we would specify which buildings are in lockdown) remain in lockdown at this time. Since the previous message, (this is where we would add new information about the developing situation).

A lockdown means that there is a situation where authorities want everyone to stay put, stay quiet, silence cell phones, and not allow anyone in the room.
Students, for your safety, you need to silence your cell phones.

Parents, as much as you want to contact your child, please refrain from doing so. Please do not come to the school, you will not be able to enter. Please do not speculate on social media and urge others to refrain as well. Do not call the school as this can only fuel dangerous rumors and take attention away from keeping students safe and secure.
We need to work together to end this situation as quickly as possible and we expect to be able to provide an update in about 20-minutes.

Since we are coordinating communication efforts and following the lead of the Carver County Sheriff’s Office, we will be reiterating what they are reporting. We will have an update for you by 10:35am. We know that this is extremely stressful for everyone and our focus right now is on the safety and security of the students.

Please do not speculate on social media and urge others to refrain as well as this can only fuel potentially dangerous rumors. Do not call the school and take attention away from keeping students safe and secure.
