Junior Zayda Butler (left) and senior Mia Tiller (right) were sworn in as the new student representatives on the School Board for the 2026-27 school year.
Student school board representatives serve as advisors to the school board and administration, offering insights into the development and assessment of policies and regulations within our school system by attending school board business meetings and work sessions. Though they do not have voting rights, they act as a vital link between the student body and the school board, also gaining valuable governmental experience through their participation.
Student school board representatives must be a junior or senior in high school. Each spring, sophomores and juniors can apply to be considered for this position. The school board and administration review applications, conduct interviews and select the student representative by May so they are prepared to serve by the start of the next school year.
Applications will be made available in the high school office, and once complete, should be returned to Dianne Breyer in the high school office by May 19th. In-person interviews will be scheduled at a later date.
