Schools are closed on Monday, March 16
The National Weather Service expects windy conditions and blowing snow to continue to create dangerous road conditions into the day on Monday, particularly in the more rural areas of the District. With the safety of our students and staff in mind, Waconia Public Schools will be closed on Monday, March 16. All early childhood programming is cancelled, including Wildcat Preschool, ECFE and ECSE classes. KidSpace before and afterschool childcare is also closed.
All afterschool and evening activities through the High School, Middle School and Community Education are cancelled.
This is the second school cancellation of the 2025-26 school year. In accordance with District policy, any subsequent weather-related closures will result in the District implementing a flex-learning day. Details and information about flex-learning days can be found on the Teaching and Learning Department website.
