Waconia Public Schools is excited to announce that Pam Carman has been named the district’s new permanent Director of Finance and Operations. Carman has served the better part of the last two decades in Hopkins Public Schools – first as a consultant, then as a Data and Fiscal Analyst, and most recently as Assistant Director of Business Services.

As the chief financial officer for Waconia Public Schools, Carman will oversee all aspects of the district’s budget including accounting, budget processes and fiscal reporting. She will also provide leadership and direction for various district services and programs including building and grounds, nutritional services and transportation.

“Pam’s knowledge and experience in the areas of financial modeling and management, forecasting, budgeting and data analysis, combined with her previous public school district experience make her a great fit for this position,” Superintendent Brian Gersich said. “After utilizing a number of temporary and interim solutions for the past several months, I’m excited for Pam to take on this role on a permanent basis. Not only will she give our business office more continuity and stability, but she will continue to build trust within our community through our commitment to transparency and the responsible use of public tax dollars.”

Carman’s expected start date is September 16. School Management Services, which has been providing business services leadership on a temporary basis for the past several months, will continue to do so through Carman’s transition to the district.
