The National Anthem is a herald before most sporting events, but for the hearing impaired it can be just a moment of silence. However, starting this year visitors to sporting events at the Waconia High School stadium will see a signed version of the anthem on the video scoreboard.
The video features students from the middle school’s American Sign Language Club signing phrases from the National Anthem (See May 13, 2019 Waconia Patriot) Students also have learned the Pledge of Allegiance in sign.
The video will be shown for the first time as a lead-in to the Wildcats first home football game on Friday, Sept. 6. You can also view it on the District 110 website: isd110.org.
