Bucky Mieras has verbally accepted an offer to become the new Activities Director at Waconia High School. Mieras comes to Waconia from Orono Schools where he served for 24 years in various roles, including health and physical education teacher (1999-2004), dean of students (2004-2008), and activities director (2008-2023).
“Bucky’s experience in Orono - a district with a lot of similarities to Waconia - will allow him to hit the ground running here,” Waconia High School Principal Paul Sparby said. “I’m excited to have him on board as part of our team and I look forward to working with him as we continue to provide students with opportunities to explore their passions.”
