2 Hour Late Start

Due to icy and potentially dangerous road conditions created by overnight freezing rain - particularly on our more rural county roads and bus routes - Waconia Public Schools will have a two-hour late start on Tuesday, January 6.
As road conditions are assessed, some bus routes may be determined to be unsafe to travel. Families impacted by those routes will be contacted to inform them that bus transportation will not be provided until gravel road conditions improve.
Under the two-hour late start, buses will pick students up exactly two hours later than their normally scheduled times, though delays are possible. Bayview, Laketown and Southview Elementary Schools will start school at 9:55 a.m.; Waconia Middle School at 10:25 a.m.; and Waconia High School at 10:30 a.m.
Morning Wildcat Preschool and ECFE classes are canceled, while afternoon classes are currently on as scheduled. KidSpace childcare will open at 8:00 a.m. at the three elementary schools and the Educational Services Center. All after school athletics and activities are currently on as scheduled. Afternoon Community Education events, classes and practices are currently on as scheduled.
