JENI SUPER NAMED DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES
Waconia Public Schools is excited to announce that Jeni Super has been named the District’s new Director of Human Resources. Super brings with her 25 years of professional experience in human resources, including the last 17 years at Hennepin County, where she most recently held the title of Human Resources Deputy Director.
As the District’s Director of Human Resources, Super will lead and oversee all personnel-related functions including staffing, recruitment and retention, labor relations, employee relations, district policy and state/federal law compliance (Title IX, FMLA, ADA), performance management, and compensation and benefits. Super will assume her new position on June 2, 2025.
WHS THEATRE PROGRAM TO PRESENT CLUE
The Waconia High School Theatre Program will present its spring play, Clue, on May 8-11 at the WHS Performing Arts Center. There will be five performances, including 7:00 p.m. shows on May 8-10, along with 2:00 p.m. matinees on May 10-11. Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased online at cur8.com/25743/project/126711. Students and staff can use the codes C-STUDENT and C-STAFF to purchase one free ticket along with showing their ID at the door.
JAMIE HISE NAMED WMS ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL
Waconia Public Schools is excited to announce that Jamie Hise will be the new Assistant Principal at Waconia Middle School, effective July 1, 2025. Hise currently serves as the Dean of Students at WMS.
“After a thorough and highly competitive selection process, Jamie emerged as the top candidate, embodying the qualities our staff expressed that they wanted to see in our next Assistant Principal,” WMS Principal Shane Clausen said. “The hiring process involved a comprehensive and rigorous four-stage interview that included input and participation from WMS students, staff, and district administrators. Through this process, Jamie demonstrated the leadership, vision, and commitment that will help move Waconia Middle School forward.”
SENIOR EVIE TELLERS NAMED 2025 ATHENA AWARD WINNER
Waconia High School senior Evie Tellers is the recipient of the school’s 2025 Athena Award. Sponsored by the Minneapolis Athena Awards Committee, the Athena Award is a unique recognition program designed exclusively for female high school seniors. Selection of the outstanding female athlete from each school is based on excellence in individual sports or for participation and accomplishments in team sports.
Tellers is a three-sport athlete (tennis, gymnastics and lacrosse) who is also active in the school’s weightlifting program. She has earned a total of 12 varsity letters, has been a team captain six times, and has earned a multitude of most valuable player and all-conference awards in all three sports. Outside of varsity athletics, Tellers is an officer for both National Honor Society and the WHS Conservation Club, is President of the school’s DECA chapter, and is also a member of the Student Council.
